The testamur received at graduation is irreplaceable, as a student's name can only be attached to the University Seal once per degree. If necessary, a Replacement Testamur Certificate can be requested, which looks similar to the original testamur (printed on quality card, etc.), but does not have the University Seal attached.
It bears the statement:
"This certificate is issued at the request of the recipient of the award, who has declared the original testamur to be lost or destroyed."
A Replacement Testamur Certificate is an official University document. It will list all pertinent information and can be used in the same manner as an original testamur.
Please make sure you read the instructions on the Application Form for Replacement Testamur carefully. You will be required to sign a statutory declaration, which is a legally binding document, so you must make sure that your original testamur really is lost or destroyed.
