The information below is designed to assist you with the student misconduct and appeals process.
Student Misconduct and Appeals Team
Student Misconduct and Appeals Team has three primary functions:
- case management of student misconduct and appeals, including investigation, presentation and documentation of cases
- education, and
- research and development.
The Team is located within the Governance Support Unit in the Registrar's Division.

Student responsibilities
UTS has rules that apply to all UTS students. These rules cover academic and non-academic issues, and are collectively known as Student and Related Rules.
Student and Related Rules outline student responsibilities at UTS, including (but not limited to): fees, enrolment, assessment, examination, progression, graduation, student misconduct, library use, results and grades.
Conduct
Students are required by the Rules to maintain an acceptable standard of conduct at all times:
- on University premises
- during any activity that relates to their study, at or through the University
- for academic and non-academic matters.
