Develop, approve and communicate the overall plan for research in a faculty or centre.

2. Develop and manage a research project

Develop, approve and communicate the overall plan for research in a faculty or centre.

  • UTS research contributes to the objectives of the UTS research strategy.
  • UTS academic staff are research active.
  • UTS seeks external research collaboration.
  • UTS applies the Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research.

3. Conduct research

Carry out research activities including fieldwork, literature review, data collection, analysis and other like activities required to produce a research outcome.

  • UTS researchers maintain a high level of academic integrity.
  • UTS staff develop, and maintain, the necessary disciplinary and research expertise to effectively conduct research.
  • UTS researchers appropriately protect UTS intellectual property.

4. Manage research outcomes

Commercialise and/or publish research outcomes.

UTS ACADEMIC STANDARD
  • UTS promotes, manages and commercialises intellectual property for the benefit of the community and UTS, including its staff and students.
  • UTS shares the benefits of ownership of intellectual property with relevant staff, students and other persons.
  • UTS will manage research publication and research commercialisation in a manner that allows the objectives of each to be achieved.
