Obtaining help and advice

What help is available?

You can obtain information or advice about:

  • how personal or health information is collected, stored, used or disclosed by UTS;
  • how you can apply for access to information held by UTS or apply to amend the University's records;
  • the requirements for compliance with the Acts in relation to current or new information collections; and
  • how to lodge a complaint or apply for a review of a decision made by University staff in relation to personal or health information.

Who at UTS can I approach for help?

You are entitled to ask for help and advice from any unit or faculty that has collected information from you. If you are not sure of the area of the University or the officer who can help you, or you would like to deal with someone outside the collection area, you are encouraged to contact the Privacy Contact Officer for assistance.

Advice is available from the Privacy Contact Officer for all members of staff, students and members of the public. For contact details, see the Further information section below.
