Admissions and recognition of prior learning

Admissions and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy

The Admissions and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy outlines the management of admissions, readmissions, enrolment and transfers for all courses.

Admissions Procedures

The Admissions Procedures support the implementation of the Admissions and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy for all programs of study offered by UTS, other than short courses.

Recognition of Prior Learning Procedures

The Recognition of Prior Learning Procedures outline university requirements and processes for granting credit to students for their prior learning.

English Language Policy

The English Language Policy sets out the framework for English language proficiency requirements and support at UTS. This is in addition to the Admissions and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy, which outlines the English language admissions standards.

Register of Admissions Standards (restricted access: Staff Connect)

The Register of Admissions Standards contains all academic standards for admission. It contains the following four registers:

  • Register of Admissions Selection Criteria
  • Register of English Language Proficiency
  • Register of External Articulation Arrangements
  • Register of Foundations Studies Courses.

These registers are managed by the University Academic Programs Office. They ensure that all academic admissions standards for any given course are subject to the same approval process.

Note: Academic Board has approved (AB/20-2/29) minor adjustments to the processes outlined in the Award Course Approval Policy and the Admissions and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy, specifically in relation to the approval of Graduate Certificates under the government's Higher Education Certificates program. Further information is available in item 3.5 of the Academic Board papers (access to papers is restricted to UTS staff and Academic Board members only).
